We took in 3 new children to the House of Hope while we were there. The first was a little boy of 21/2 called Joanis. His story is not a typical one for us but nevertheless the heart beat of Jesus says 'care'...
Joanis
Joanis lives within earshot of Zion Nursery and Primary School in a 2
roomed hut just off one of the busiest streets in Bo, with his Mother,
Father, sister and a new baby sister. His mother has sickle cell anemia and has quite severe mastitis
. Joanis father has polio, contracted during the war years when
immunisations were impossible. He can only walk on crutches. He does a
little tailoring to try and support his family. They are struggling to
look after Joanis, who is very bright and adventurous. He is also very
anaemic and medical intervention is required.
We have taken him into the care centre for while to build up his
strength and blood levels and also to give his parents a break. We
plan to return him with his family when he has improved and they aready to receive him.

Our Head of Ministry Development, Cynthia Kanu, showed us two more children that had recently lost their mother. As part of an outreach to Muslim women she encouraged others to befriend two Muslim women each and let the Light of Jesus shine into their lives. These two childrens' mother was one of the women Cynthia had befriended.
Pictures to come soon...
