Walking Hadrians Wall!

Alec Depledge

Meet Alec Depledge...

Twelve months ago I conceived the idea of walking across Hadrian's Wall in the north of England - from west to east - a stretch of around 90 miles, through some of the most beautiful scenery imaginable.

The aim is to raise funds for orphans being cared for by Fresh Hope in Sierra Leone, West Africa. It was decided to make the attempt over 6-days in June 2012 - actual dates: 11th to 16th inclusive.

Since the middle of August 2011 I have been in regular training for the event, doing local walks in some of the beautiful surrounding countryside where I live, which include the Lincolnshire Wolds, and by the end of the Walk, I will have clocked up a total of 1000 miles.

I would love to be able to send £2000 to Sierra Leone to help towards the amazing work being done by Fresh-Hope, and I'd appeal to you to support me in this effort by giving whatever amount you're able to.

Thank you so much - every gift is greatly appreciated and will be put to good use.
