Foster Care:
Church member Foster Famlies

Fostering

Background

Heaven’s Garden: Baby Rescue Centre was started in 2006 with the aim to take babies in whose mothers have either passed away or were abandoned and would otherwise not survive. This developed into our Foster Care programme for Church Members. Each child has their own unique story and background. The programme exists to give each baby and child brought in, a hope and a future.

Psalm 139:13-14 says, “You formed my innermost parts; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks and praise to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Opportunity to Help Foster Families

What an opportunity we have to impart this knowledge onto our children and to bring them up knowing that they are fearfully and wonderfully made. We have had countless opportunities to make a difference to change children's lives. However, the reality is that we could have saved so many more lives if our Foster Care had more capacity and if we had more financial support to pour into Foster care family support and to rescue many more babies and kids.

Cost for survival

Each child fostered has their own needs on top of what the foster familiy can provide. For survival these children need care, formula milk for the babies, clothing, toiletries, medical care and a balanced diet. One of the most expensive, but necessary, items is formula milk as it has to be imported into Sierra Leone. For us to be able to provide the best opportunity for survival for these children is through regular financial support. If we had this regular financial support we could make such a difference in more children’s lives and rescue so many more into loving caring church families.

10 New Babies

As of June 2020 we welcomed 10 new babies into our Foster Care. Some of these babies were orphaned from their parent/parents dying from the coronavirus or from giving birth whilst other parents could not financially support the child.

Fresh Hope also needs continued financial support to be able to support the Foster Families financially to provide a safe and nurturing place where they are loved, valued and brought up knowing that Jesus loves them and has a plan for their life. As these children get older they have the opportunity to attend our Fresh Hope School.

We dont have specific sponorship for individual children or babies, however we encourage people to give what they have determined in their hearts to give to the Foster Care programme. Formula milk is our most expensive item and foster families with babies will be given extra help for this.
